hry moon & art - are your eyes painted on? Davo's backhand turns were critical in the pocket. It seems that his surfing was too fast for you to comprehend.

Davos 7.7 was deserving, they werent half turns if you take a close look, well deserved 2nd place on his behalf. I do agree that CJs first wave where he managed to do the air reverse and still make the section deserved more than a 6 more like a 7.5.

That was poor poor judging. a 7? what was 'good' about that wave? why do we continue to let judges ruin events and pull down the overall surfing in the CT to pre QS standards.
My five year old could've told you that.
Yours, gary glitter.

What a JOKE the ASP needs to fire all those judges, they don't want CJ or Kelly getting close to the world title. Both of them got robbed.

Hey Billabong guys,

You dont deserve those judges in your contest. You wasted your money!

davo clearly won that heat. im not saying he surfs better than CJ, but, in this case, he chosed better waves and surfed them well with a good style.

There is no way that last wave of Chris D. was a 7. All his turns were half turns, and his style difficult to watch. On CJ's first wave he pulled the best manuever of the day. However, these days the so called "science" of judging means to count the number of turns (despite how they look), make sure they are at the beginning of the wave, on the biggest wave of the set, then give them a high score. We need to take the art of surfing into account when judging.

Watch that last wave of Chris D, the 7.07. All of his turns were mere half turns, he looked like any average ALl judges do is measure the size of the wave, and count turns, even if they are crappy turns, they add up. We need to take more of the art of surfing into consideration when judging. If we did so, half of these painfully hideous surfers would not be on this tour, thankfully.

Mullet bashing! and whats with all the fist claims at Mundaka this year??
right said (5 months ago)
that 7 Chris Davidson got was a really ugly 4 at best. CJ got robbed. the ASP judging is a guessing game joke.

If this tour is partly managed by the surfers they should review these heats WITH the judges. Why do they hate a variety of big explosive turns surfed smoothly.
Wow. I wasted days of looking at this contest.
Everybody, review these heats and email the sponsors.
